Today's piece is actually one of my very favorites, simple as it is, because it's so versatile and easy to make in different colors and patterns. It would also would look great painted or beaded.
I used my classic side stitch ribbon technique to make the bag from heavy cotton strap. I love that it's so heavyweight and the texture makes the direction so obvious.
I made the base of the bag lining the straps vertically. I lay out three pieces horizontally and inserted an ivory/silver zipper so that it would be exposed. I sewed the top to the bottom and hand stitched the top closed on the back.
Pouch/Clutch, Cotton Strapping |
Definitely a short and sweet project but I love the outcome. I'll be remaking this one in many different colors and patterns!

Arielle
